"As a recovering Cadsoft Eagle user I can say that the advantages of Altium Designer are many compared to Eagle (I know nothing about PCAD). In my situation we design entire systems into FPGAs so the tight integration of Altium Designer is the major advantage. As you are probably aware, one can go from schematic to board to FPGA synthesis and simulation to firmware in the soft cores to emulation and debug all from the Altium Designer environment.
